The Valencia CF coach talks after the 2-2 result against Deportivo Alavés
Valencia CF will visit Real Betis Balompié at the Benito Villamarín this coming Sunday, 1 October at 21:00. The two clubs have shared up to 34 players and, at present, three of them are still tied to Real Betis. Joaquín Sánchez, Andrés Guardado and Isco Alarcón will be special hosts for the Valencian club.
Joaquín Sánchez
The player from Puerto de Santa María will always be remembered for his 'feint and sprint', his galloping runs and his technical quality that overflowed down the right flank and sent the Mestalla crowd wild. Joaquín joined Valencia CF in the summer of 2006 and spent 5 seasons (2006-2011) in which he made 218 appearances, scoring 30 goals and providing 36 assists.
The Andalusian player won the Copa del Rey in 2008 in that great final against Getafe CF at the Vicente Calderón. After hanging up his boots at the end of last season, the player from Cádiz is still linked to Real Betis Balompié.
Andrés Guardado
The Mexican player joined Valencia CF in 2012 with Mauricio Pellegrino as coach. He made his debut on 19 August of the same year against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. One of the qualities that stand out from his time at Valencia CF was his versatility (he played as a winger, inside back and even left back) and intensity. Guardado played in the 2014 World Cup, held in Brazil, as a Valencia player. The player from Jalisco wore the Valencia Club de Fútbol shirt for 2 seasons (2012-2014).
From the seasons (2012-2014), racking up 66 official matches, 2 goals and 8 assists. Guardado is now in his seventh season as a Betis player.
Joaquín and Andrés Guardado will always carry Valencia CF in their hearts. Two players to whom Mestalla will always hold an enormous amount of affection for their commitment and professionalism in defending the Valencianista crest.
Isco Alarcón
The Arroyo de la Miel native joined Valencia CF in 2006, at just 14 years of age. The young player quickly demonstrated his technical potential and three years later, he played for VCF Mestalla. Given his great performance, on 11 November 2010, he made his debut with the first team in an official match, Copa del Rey, against Unión Deportiva Logroñés. Isco played 13 games for Valencia CF (between 2009 and 2011) and scored 3 goals. The player from Malaga joined the green and white club this season.
